(i) The purpose of the collected data is to monitor compliance of countries with the quantitative targets for recovery and recycling of end of life vehicles that are set out in Article 7 (2) of the End-of life vehicle Directive (ii) Data is broken down by type of treatment and for waste categories. (iii) EU Member State and United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. (iv) The Member States are free to decide on the data collection methods. Data are collected from various sources depending on the indicator (generation of waste, recycling, recovery, etc.)
